Lisa Ashton has moved further clear as the provisional top seed for the 2020 BDO World Championship, after being crowned World Trophy champion for the third time in Blackburn last night.
Ashton, the 2015 and 2016 World Trophy winner, made it a hat-trick of titles as she beat Anastasia Dobromyslova 6-2 in the final.
In terms of the race to qualify for the Indigo at the O2, in January, the only change following the World Trophy was Lorraine Winstanley and Laura Turner swapping places. Winstanley beat Turner 4-0 in the quarter-finals on Sunday, and has replaced her as the provisional sixth seed.
Maria O’Brien and Casey Gallagher, provisionally in ninth and 10th, boosted their qualifying hopes with first-round victories in Blackburn.
