New Zealand Darts Masters Draw: Michael van Gerwen begins bid for back-to-back World Series titles against Kyle Anderson

Michael van Gerwen will open his bid for back-to-back World Series titles against Kyle Anderson in the first round of the New Zealand Darts Masters later this week.

The two-day event brings the yearly triple-header Down Under to a close this weekend, with the newly-crowned Melbourne Darts Masters champion van Gerwen aiming to double his trophy haul this month.

Van Gerwen takes on former Auckland Darts Masters winner Anderson in the first round on Friday, while Australia’s Damon Heta, the Brisbane Darts Masters champion two weeks ago, faces top seed Peter Wright.

Daryl Gurney, the fourth seed and last week’s runner-up in Melbourne goes up against David Platt, third seed Rob Cross, the World Matchplay champion, will play Warren Parry, who has replaced Corey Cadby in the field after the former PDC world youth champion withdrew due to personal reasons, and Gary Anderson meets Haupai Puha.

Raymond van Barneveld, competing in his final competitive tournament in New Zealand, plays Cody Harris, Simon Whitlock faces Ben Robb, and James Wade bids for his first win of this year’s triple header against Craig Caldwell.
