BDO weekend round-up: John Scott triumphs in Estonian Masters to bag both titles in Tallinn

John Scott capped off a memorable weekend in Tallinn by winning the Estonian Masters on Sunday.

The 38-year-old, from Harrow, broke his BDO ranking title duck after claiming the Estonian Open crown yesterday.

And the former PDC tour card holder doubled his tally today with a victory in the Category D Estonian Masters.

Scott defeated Paavo Myller 5-4 in the final to clinch the 500€ prize and become the second player on the BDO circuit this year to complete a weekend double.

Martijn Kleermaker won the West Fries Open and Masters events last month, which helped the Dutch ace climb to 21st in the rankings.

Scott, currently joint 46th, is expected to break into the top 40 following his two title successes this weekend.

AUSTRALIA – Australia’s Adam Rowe won the Category C Victorian Easter Classic on Saturday, beating Justin Thompson 7-6 in the final. Joanne Hadley won the ladies event after a 6-3 victory over Leanne Wilson in the decider.

ICELAND – Dennis Watt retained his Winmau Iceland Open title after beating 14-year-old Alex Máni Pétursson 7-1 in the final. The Scot also won the pairs event with Iceland’s Garðar Magnússon.

NEW ZEALAND – Last year’s WDF Asia-Pacific Cup singles runner-up Ben Robb took home his first BDO ranking title, winning the South Island Masters on Saturday. The New Zealander averaged 96.2 in a 6-1 victory over Darren Herewini in the final. Kalita Rickerby beat Desi Mercer in the ladies final.
