Weekly Dartscast Episode 300: Jonny Clayton, Des Jacklin, Martin Foulds, 300th Episode Special

Co-hosts Alex Moss and Burton DeWitt are back with our 300th episode special!

Alex and Burton look back at the last two years in the world of darts, since recording their 200th episode in May 2021, and also pick out their favourite guests from the last 100 episodes.

The boys also review last weekend’s European Tour event in Munich, where Michael Smith beat Nathan Aspinall 8-5 in the final, before making their Premier League picks for Brighton and answering your questions in the mailbag.

Jonny Clayton (19:11) is the first of three guests on our 300th episode special. The former Premier League champion calls in to reflect on the last 16 months, since winning the 2021 World Grand Prix, including Ally Pally classics with Michael Smith and Josh Rock, finishing top of the Premier League in 2022, and going full-time with the darts. Jonny also looks back on winning the last two Premier League nights to move into the play-off spots and looks ahead to facing Michael Smith in Brighton tonight.

Martin Foulds (52:33), the boss of ZXF Sports Management, also stops by to chat about the players in his stable. Martin talks about how he got involved in darts management, Nathan Aspinall’s last five years and becoming a major winner, signing Chris Dobey last year and his breakthrough 2023 winning the Masters and being picked for the Premier League, as well as being the manager of one of the hottest young prospects in darts in Luke Littler.

Des Jacklin (1:22:22), the organiser of the Torremolinos Darts Festival and the BDO chairman, is also back on the show for the first time since our 2019 World Masters special. Des gives his take on the 2020 BDO World Championship and the drop in the prize fund, the BDO’s demise, trophy-gate, and also discusses what a darts festival in Torremolinos involves.
