League A round-up

Paddy Burke has secured the top seed position in the League A play-offs of the Darts Atlas Bang Average League after finishing with a perfect 8-0-0 winning record.

The defending champion wrapped up top spot by winning his last two league games. Burke (74.87) and Ryan Holland (70.21) played out a high-quality contest last week, with Burke prevailing 4-2.

After handing Holland his first defeat of the season, Burke then ended Neeman Hasida‘s unbeaten run, averaging 74.22 in a 4-0 whitewash win against second-placed Hasida (56.07).

Joining Burke and Hasida in the League A play-offs will be newcomers Holland and Bradley Warren.

Holland (63.82) returned to action with a 4-1 victory against Liam Weaver (48.51), and then got the better of Michael Kimber (52.95) by the same scoreline.

Kimber showed his quality with a stunning 157 checkout to close to 3-1 behind, but Holland (54.95) checked out 106 in the next leg to complete a 4-1 win.

Warren picked up three points from his last two league games to clinch the fourth and final play-off spot.

Warren (53.61) battled back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 with Craig Smith (54.11), and then averaged 54.16 in a 4-0 triumph over Adam Pope (52.70).

Warren will face reigning champion Burke in the semi-finals, while Hasida and Holland go up against each other in the other semi-final.

Hasida (56.94) took out a 102 on his way to a 4-2 win against Weaver (51.08), who got back to winning ways with a 4-2 victory over Smith (49.09) in his last game of the season.

Pope is in fifth place after picking up three more points. Pope (65.35) whitewahsed Hayden Johnson (55.86) 4-0, and then drew 3-3 with Smith (50.76).

The battle to avoid relegation comes down to the final two remaining fixtures, with Johnson requiring a point in his last game to guarantee his place in League A next season.
