The Weekly Dartscast Episode 102 with John Scott, Kim Huybrechts, German Darts Open Review, Premier League Preview and Picks and more

We’re back with episode 102 of the Weekly Dartscast! Co-hosts Alex Moss and Burton DeWitt are joined by special guests John Scott and Kim Huybrechts on this week’s show!

Alex and Burton start the podcast by looking back at the German Darts Open from the weekend, an event which saw Michael van Gerwen survive five match darts on his way to lifting the title. We discuss which players will be most disappointed not to have beaten the world number one, plus analyse Ian White’s run to the final and pick out other players who impressed.

Next, the team are joined by former major finalist and Premier League player Kim Huybrechts. “The Hurricane” calls in to look back at his career so far, including making two TV finals, the nine darter against van Gerwen, his two years in the Premier League, plus the possibility of him playing his wife Dana in the World Championship!

Then, we take your questions from Twitter, which include whether Nathan Aspinall will be a seed on the European Tour soon, should the World Series picks have been mixed up more, and should Target should develop a new dart for Raymond van Barneveld after he performed well with an old set “found in a drawer” at the weekend.

Then, one of the newest winners on the BDO circuit, former PDC tour card holder John Scott joins us to reflect on winning both the Estonian Open and Masters events a few weeks ago. John also talks about his early years playing in the PDC, the decision to focus more on the BDO circuit, and as an Arsenal supporter whether he thinks they will make the top four at the end of the season.

Speaking of the top four, the race for the Premier League Darts play-offs is hotting up. With three weeks to go, there is just one point separating third to sixth in the table, and Alex and Burton discuss Daryl Gurney’s chances after his big win in Birmingham last week.

Finally, it’s time for our picks. It’s Night 14 in Manchester on Thursday and the Premier League Prediction League leader, Alex, and co-host Burton, give us their predictions for the four games coming up this week.
