We’re back with episode 99 of the Weekly Dartscast! Co-hosts Alex Moss and Burton DeWitt are joined by “The Needle” Keegan Brown and Mac Elkin, from The Sportsman Management Company Ltd, on this week’s show.
Alex and Burton start the podcast by looking back at the German Darts Championship, the second European Tour event of 2019 which took place in Hildesheim over the weekend.
After Daryl Gurney won his first European Tour title, the team discuss whether “Superchin” could win one of the big three (Premier League, World Matchplay or World Championship) this season.
Next, fresh from reaching the semi-finals in Hildesheim, “The Needle” Keegan Brown calls in to chat about his first European Tour semi-final, breaking into the top 32 of the PDC, as well as look back at his career so far.
We then head to the mailbag for some more of your questions, including: will Ricky Evans crack the top 32 inside the next 12 months? Is Stephen Bunting the new Steve Beaton? And will Kim Huybrechts finish the season higher or lower on the Order of Merit compared to last season.
Next, the man behind The Sportsman Management Company Ltd, Mac Elkin, calls in to chat with Burton about several of the players he manages, including Corey Cadby, Kyle Anderson, Glen Durrant, Dimitri van den Bergh and many more.
Finally, Alex and Burton give their thoughts on a quite remarkable sequence of events in Rotterdam last Thursday night to Friday afternoon, which saw Raymond van Barneveld announce his immediate retirement, and then go back on his decision. The team discuss whether Barney’s elimination proves that he should not have been given a wildcard. We end the show with picks for Night 10 of the Premier League in Belfast this week.
